Senior Lecturer at RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia. I am an educator, researcher and practitioner in Computing Education. I am also interested in the use of technology in education, and the development of innovative teaching and learning practices.
After coordinating the first-year programming course(s) for close to 10 years, I took a step back. Nowadays, I still teach in the Python/Java Programming Bootcamp course and participate in the Bootcamp to Studio Redesign Project.
I have led the subgroup about “Understanding who our first-year students are”, which has led to a comprehensive report shared with the team and the whole school. I also led the development of a LLMs Unplugged workshop based on the original LLMs Unplugged.
I am currently working on how to integrate genAI in programming education without jeopardising the pedoggical aspect…
I co-lead the cross-school Community of Practice on Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) for Generative AI, spanning RMIT’s School of Science and School of Health and Biomedical Sciences, together with Kesava Kovanur Sampath. The group had its first meeting in September 2026.
I also co-founded the RMIT School of Computing Technologies reading group on Computer Science Education research, together with Man Hou, which launched in September 2026.
