Edouard Amouroux
Senior Lecturer at RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia. I am an educator, researcher and practitioner in Computing Education. I am also interested in the use of technology in education, and the development of innovative teaching and learning practices.
I am a Senior Lecturer in Computer Science and Program Manager for the Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) at RMIT University, Melbourne.
My current work focuses primarily on Computing Education research: understanding how people learn computing, designing effective learning experiences, and exploring how digital tools and AI can support students and educators.
I previously held the Program Manager role for BIT at RMIT Vietnam. Before returning to academia, I also spent a year as a startup founder (Healint pty) in Singapore, gaining practical experience in entrepreneurship, product development, and the challenges of building a technology venture. Healint was later acquired by Aptar Digital Health (February 2024).
Earlier in my career, I worked extensively in agent-based modelling and simulation. I continue to contribute to these fields on a smaller scale, particularly where computational models can help investigate complex social, environmental and socio-technical systems. Nowadays, I focus more on Computing Education research and especially the impact of generative AI.
